Columbia Alumni Italy, Summer 2019

In June, Italy-based Columbia alumni met at Rome's Hotel Mediterraneo, an Art Deco jewel located on via Cavour. The event was organized by CAA President, Selby Byashimova,'13.   The group included renowned economist Salvatore Zecchini, journalist Guido Busetto, who recounted his experiences in the wine business he now runs in Tuscany (Castello di Selvole). Lorenzo Da Pra Galanti, international contract lawyer, Milan; Alex Sapega, Global Brand Developer of the Roma AS soccer team’s merchandising sector, and Alessandro Mosca, joining us from Spain, where he works in the field of sports law, advising soccer team, Real Madrid.  Cornelia Lauf, our new Roman CAA Vice-President, relayed her perspective from the platform of the visual arts.  The group parted, after a delightful terrace dinner overlooking all of Rome, with the vow to further and grow our alumni association in Italy.

Interested in joining our CAA Italy Association?  We are seeking volunteers and ideas for future meetings. Future ideas include lectures, wine tastings, book launches, encounters with policy makers; visits to private art collections, and more. Our venues will range from government, business, and the arts, to private salons, where the country's artistic, intellectual, and political decision-makers still mingle, as their ancient ancestors once did, on terraces filled with lemon trees and the scent of lavender.

Join Columbia Alumni Association - Italy!  We welcome your participation!
